Proper installation of wooden windows, aluminium and PVC
When buying windows, there are important criteria that go beyond quality that only a specialised window company can fulfill.
In any case, it is not advisable to buy windows and doors from a building contractor who is unable to carry out a professional installation due to a lack of knowledge. In addition, if defects occur sooner or later, this can lead to problems of responsibility. Who is to blame and who is to carry out the inspection?
With this message, Mestre Raposa would like to emphasise the importance of having the right partner and the importance of professional window installation, which is often underestimated.
The window and door installation process for orders include;
Measurement of windows and doors
For the installation of new windows and doors, the exact dimensions of the windows must be determined by the project. This is the only way to ensure that the new windows are neither too large nor too small.
Removing the old windows and doors during a renovation
The old windows must be carefully and prudently dismantled. Special care must be taken not to damage the brickwork. This can lead to problems, especially with old wooden windows, as they are attached to the brickwork with long nails.
Sealing the window frame
Once the old window has been dismantled and the structural situation allows it, the window frame is secured with a compressive tape to create an airtight seal.
Inserting and fixing the window frame
This is followed by the installation of the window frame, which is fixed in place with wooden or plastic wedges. The frame is levelled using a spirit level or a laser and secured with installation screws.
Sealing the gap
If a compression tape is used in the previous step, the tape expands automatically after installation and provides a seal. Otherwise, high-quality PU foam is used.
Installing and adjusting window sashes
The adjustment of the window sashes at the end of installation is important for function and tightness. High-quality fittings from Mestre Raposa ensure a long service life and problem-free operation.
The guarantee is 10 years.
Large sliding systems, for example with minimalist sliding elements, again require a clearance. Incorrect installation can cause immense damage to the masonry, which in the worst case can lead to the demolition of the building.
Wooden windows and doors may only be installed if the residual moisture content of the building is below 65%. Otherwise, deformation of the frame and sash may occur.
Mestre Raposa also offers maintenance contracts that can be carried out at intervals of 1 or 2 years, depending on the material.
