“The Alentejo is one of the largest and most recognized wine regions in Portugal and Vidigueira is one of its jewels (…)”. This is how Dieter Morszeck (former president and grandson of the founder of luxury luggage brand Rimowa) describes part of his vision for Quinta do Paral acquired in 2017.

Quinta do Paral was redesigned in collaboration with winemaker Luis Morgado Leão and, with an investment of 8 million euros, was designed to expand the cellar, develop the wine production process and also build a charming hotel.

Like Mestre Raposa International®, Quinta do Paral focuses on environmental sustainability and respect for local culture and tradition. In the case of Vidigueira, in particular for the preservation of the Alentejo’s wine culture, these objectives needed to be reflected in the new windows and doors that we installed.

This meant adding and replicating some historic elements on the doors and windows, such as the arched doors, the multiple grids, the crafted glazing bars and the fixed fanlight over the windows. And the choice of a noble material that respected the vineyard state’s history, which could only be wood. The wood doors and windows would not only match the site’s history, but would also frame the vineyard fields with their bespoke sizes and resist the Alentejo heat with their superior insulation.

Quinta do Paral will soon have windows and doors in wood from Mestre Raposa International® in all its buildings, with the soul of this beautiful wine region.
